Dear Sharesy Customer Support, I am writing to formally complain about a serious issue with my confirmed booking at St Margaret’s Church Centre, Abbey Room, on Friday 25 September 2026, 16:30–22:00. My name is Solomon David, and I made and paid for this booking through Sharesy. The payment of £168.30 was made on 12 September 2026, and I received written confirmation that St Margaret’s Church Centre had confirmed the booking. On the day of the event, I followed the access instructions provided and attempted to contact the venue using the supplied same-day contact number from 3:30 pm onwards. Despite numerous attempts, the number did not connect and nobody answered. I was eventually able to contact a church member, who arrived at approximately 4:25 pm, only around five minutes before the booked start time. I was then informed that she was not aware of the booking. This caused considerable stress and disruption. My guests were already travelling to the venue, and our event setup was significantly delayed. We also had difficulty locating and understanding the facilities because no proper handover or venue briefing was provided. I have attached the payment receipt and booking confirmation as evidence. I would therefore like Sharesy and the venue to investigate: 1. Why a confirmed and paid booking was apparently not communicated properly to the venue. 2. Why the designated same-day contact number was unavailable. 3. Why access was not properly arranged for the confirmed booking time. 4. Why no appropriate handover/instructions were provided. 5. What compensation or partial refund will be offered for the disruption and loss of booked time. This was a significant failure in the delivery of a confirmed service, and I would appreciate a formal response explaining what happened and what remedy you propose. Please treat this as a formal complaint and escalate it to the appropriate person if necessary. This meeting room offers a professional, well-equipped space ideal for group discussions, presentations, or workshops. The room can be configured for your needs with comfortable seating for up to 20 people. It features high-speed Wi-Fi, and a large screen LCD TV is available on request. Natural lighting fills the room through large windows, creating a welcoming atmosphere, with blinds available for screen visibility.
Chairs and tables can be requested at checkout where you can set these up in the room to support a variety of different layouts to suit your event needs. If you would prefer no chairs and tables, this can also be facilitated by requesting this at checkout.
St Margaret’s Centre is a short walk from Barking Station with its excellent transport links to Central London and surrounding areas via the C2C, District Line and Suffragette Line. The 672, 287 & 368 Bus Routes stop outside the Church Centre.
If you are booking any of our spaces for a religious event you must be a church affiliated to either Churches Together in Britain and Ireland or The Evangelical Alliance.
