We recently hosted a birthday party at this venue. Communications before the party with Richard and Pauline were good. However, when we arrived, we found that due to the venue being double booked with a football match, which we had not been informed of, all 40 car parking spaces mentioned in the booking information were unavailable. There was also very limited street parking in local roads. This meant that as the party hosts, we were forced to park a long way down the road, rather than on site, and carry all our party food, drinks, decorations etc in the pouring rain for several minutes down the road. This was very inconvenient and stressful when we were preparing to host our party. It was also very difficult for our guests to find parking. Once inside the hall, we found that it was clean and had everything we needed. Pauline was also very helpful on the day. I got in touch with Richard after the event, who confirmed that he was unaware of the double booking. In addition, he confirmed that they cannot and will not guarantee parking spaces. For these reasons, although the hall was otherwise fine, due to the parking issues, combined with the double booking that the venue organiser was unaware of, and had not informed us of, I cannot recommend this venue and would not choose to use it in the future.
The Clubhouse Hire, Old Haberdashers' Sports Ground
A great main hall for a private event. The hall has a bar, toilets and kitchen use upon arrangement, and someone will be there for your whole event on hand.
Inflatables are only permitted upon the provision of proof of liability insurance. A signed waiver absolving The Old Haberdashers’ Association of any liability whatsoever is also required. BBQs and bonfires are not permitted

It was a really good experience throughout from placing my booking to the day of our event. The location and venue were brilliant, unfortunately due to the weather we couldn't make use of the outdoors but definitely will next time!
