Church Hire, The Guild Church of St Katharine Cree

Dating from 1631, with original stained glass windows, intricate mouldings, and vaulted ceilings, the Church is a unique backdrop for any event. It is perfect for concerts, literary festivals, award ceremonies, and conferences, to name a few. The space boasts a modern A/V and lighting system, including wireless microphones and a large moveable screen. With flexible seating in the form of benches and chairs, and a modular stage available, we can configure the space to suit your event. This vibrant soaring space measures approximately 27 x 15.9 metres and can comfortably seat 150 people.

St Katharine Cree is conveniently located in Zone 1, Central London. We are 9 minutes walk from Liverpool Street station, 6 minutes from Tower Hill, 5 minutes from Fenchurch Street, and 3 minutes from Aldgate. The 25 bus stops right outside the church on Leadenhall Street.The Church is available for dry hire as a standalone space, or can be hired alongside the Hall and courtyard garden which gives you exclusive access to the whole site.

St Katharine Cree is not just a architectural masterpiece in the heart of London. We also run a support centre for workers in the City, particularly those in so-called 'hidden industries' such as cleaning. Every week, we provide free-of-charge language classes, legal aid, bereavement support, community lunches, and much more. We receive no funding from the Church of England or government to either run our support centre or maintain our extraordinary building. 100% of profits are put back into supporting our workers’ centre. As this is an active consecrated church, we cannot host events with spiritual content or which contain offensive messages inconsistent with our values of respect, inclusion, and care. If you are unsure if your event fits within these guidelines, we would be happy to talk it through with you.

Please note additional charges depending on the timing and nature of your event:

• £30+ £20/hour for your Event Host (if your event is large and/or outside our office hours). Two Hosts will be required for events of more than 150 people. We may require you to meet with the Host and a member of our team before the event, in which case we would ask you to cover the Host’s time (£20/hour).
• £50 if you require furniture rearranged. Please note Event Hosts will not be able to assist with moving the benches in the Church due to their weight. You are welcome to do so at your own risk.
