St Matthew's Church is divided into an upper (worship area) and ground floor (church hall)
The worship area upstairs is a large adaptable open area which is fully carpeted. Chairs can be laid out in a variety of configurations (Capacity about 100). At the sides are banked pews (Capacity about 70 each side) with a few pillar obstructions. There is a first class concert grand piano and a three manual pipe organ with 32′ stops. There is a good sound system with a hearing-aid induction loop and excellent acoustics. The space includes a small crèche area which can be used for large events with small children.
Shared use of the garden is included within the price, weather permitting, only between March and August.

Venue policies
House rules
- Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before the start time so booked time should include set up and clear away time
- Contact the church office to obtain keys and instructions on setting and turning off the alarm
- When the keys are collected a member of staff will go through everything needed for the hire
- There won't be a member of staff on site during your booking. If you have any issues contact the venue contact provided
- No smoking/vaping
- No candles or fireworks on Church premises
- Bring your own bags and take the rubbish with you
- Leave promptly after your event
- Leave the space as you found it
- Remember to close all doors and windows so that the alarm can set correctly.
- Events must finish by 11pm including clean up
- Hirer must arrange insurance to cover liability from death injury or damage to third parties and or their property
Parking and loading
- There are 10 parking spaces on the forecourt on a first come first served basis
- There ispaid on-street parking (Mon-Sat) during the day time in the surrounding streets. There are no designated loading bays, please unload from where you have parked

Fantastic and well-equipped space - perfect for children's parties. Large central area for games etc with smaller break-out corners for parents to sit/serving tables and a ‘home corner’ where siblings can play. We’ve hosted two parties here now and would definitely return!
