Hornsey Vale Community Centre reviews
The venue is lovley, but they didn’t say in the small hall is a piano and take lots of space The volunteer lady who came to open the door was rude i went bit late but my husband was there waiting she doesn’t want to open the door because im not there So what my husband is there we paid for it no one mentioned then I have to be there the door to be open After i want to extend for 30 min extra ( and pay of course) and same volunteer woman was ‘’ noooooo thats not possible is just impossible’’ so rude After she came to check if everything is clean and the second hall was lot of chair we didn’t use there were there she was u have to put them away ,no I dont have to I came and the chairs was out i didnt use the bigger hall … Last year i hire same place and didnt have any problem ,but this year I didnt have nice expiriance Venue's response: We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with some elements of your booking this time and wanted to take the time to acknowledge your frustration, let you know how we will ensure they do not happen again, and respond to several of the issues mentioned which were highlighted to you before your event. The hirer who has the booking in their name is required to be present (unless by prior arrangement with the venue) for the entire booking time, as that is who our hiring arrangement is with and has responsibility for listening to the fire and health and safety information at the start of the hire time. We will review our confirmation and pre-party correspondence to ensure this is made clear. We advise both at the time of booking and in our reminder email 2 days before your event that our volunteer keyholders cannot amend bookings on the day, this must be done in advance with the admin staff when the office is open. We also ask hirers to return furniture to the correct storage area, There are only 16 chairs and 2 small tables stored in the small hall. When additional furniture for your party is bought in from the furniture cupboard or the main hall the volunteer keyholders will request party hirers put them away, this expectation is also outlined in our confirmation and pre-party reminders. The small upright piano has been in the small hall for more than 6 months and measures 1.5m long by 65cm wide, stored right in the corner. We would always recommend a viewing of the space as it had been more than 2 years since your last booking, and there may be small changes to consider. Whilst we disagree that the piano takes up a lot of space in the hall, we acknowledge it was not on the listing, and as such will update our small hall venue picture to include the piano for future bookers information.
Great cosy space
Lovely and quiet and very friendly staff. The bathroom was nice and clean. Thanks all!
