Answers before you sign up

Is it free to list my venue?

Yes. There are no setup fees or monthly fees. Sharesy takes commission only when you get a confirmed booking.

Can I list more than one space at my venue?

Yes. If your venue has more than one hireable space, list each space separately with its own pricing, availability and description.

Who controls my calendar and availability?

You do. Set your opening hours, block out any dates you are busy, then confirm or decline the bookings and enquiries we send you.

How does hall hire work on Sharesy?

Create a listing for your space, set your availability, prices and house rules, and we show your venue to local bookers. You accept or decline each booking, so you stay in control.

Can I rent out my hall for regular weekly bookings?

Yes. Sharesy is built for recurring venue hire, including weekly classes, term-time groups and monthly meetings, as well as one-off bookings.

How do I get paid?

We collect payment from the booker when they book. We send you a payout after the event. We transfer monthly payouts to your bank account on the second working day of each month.

What does Sharesy cost for event or activity spaces?

New bookings are charged at 16% + VAT. Existing recurring bookings can be moved onto Sharesy at 8% + VAT.

Who controls my calendar and availability?

You do. Set your opening hours, block out any dates you are busy, respond to enquiries we send then confirm or reject each one.

How does function room hire work on Sharesy?

List your space, receive qualified enquiries and agree the event details directly with the customer before the booking is confirmed.

Can we use minimum spend or package pricing?

Yes. Hospitality listings can use minimum spend pricing, per-person packages or hourly/daily hire fees.

How is payment taken from the booker?

For hospitality private hire, you take payments yourself and arrange this directly with the booker. This can include taking a deposit if you prefer. After the event Sharesy invoices commission on the final net spend.

What does Sharesy cost for hospitality venues?

Hospitality venues are charged 12.5% + VAT on the final net spend, only for enquiries that are confirmed and go ahead.

We just charge an hourly or daily hire fee. Can we qualify for the hospitality commission if we take payment ourselves?

Hospitality commission is for venues that primarily earn from food and drink sales, not hire fees, as catered events typically have a higher final spend than dry hire. Venues that charge hire fees qualify as Event Spaces, with payment taken by Sharesy. If you wish to take payment yourself but just charge hire fees, please contact us first.
